Mission 16U National

Team Profile

This team is built for the most competitive softball player. 16U National will be built of 11-12 athletes that are committed to challenging their potential as individuals and as a team. The right players for this team are those that are looking to play in college or have the mindset to train at that same level.

Head Coach

Tien Ly, Head Coach

Coach Tien is a demanding, positive and encouraging coach who wants to help get the best out of each of his players.

Tien has 17 years of experience having previously coached with the Midwest Speed and MN Ice. He is known for his competitive nature and his desire to learn and teach the details of the game.

Tien will serve as the club hitting director and will lead our staff in the development of high-level hitting training combining the latest technology with common sense and a care for the needs of each individual athlete.

Outside of Mission, Tien has partnered with Whitney Johnson as a co-owner of Windup Fastpitch.

Team Needs

This team has 4 strong returning players from this past Summer, leaving 7-8 spots available at tryouts for high-end players.

The team has 3 openings for strong pitchers. We expect a strong turn out at tryouts as many players who have worked with Tien or known of him will want to come tryout - the benefit to those making the team will be that we’ll have a strong team to compete with.

Expectations on Schedule

Mission 16U National will practice 2-3 times per week in the Fall and Summer. In the winter with the wealth of training options available at Mission players should take advantage of them 3-5 times per week. Summer we will hold 2-3 practices per week.
